FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson Co. Prosecutor’s Office on Friday filed charges of Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 5 felony, on John Cassin, 75, of Whiteland. During the execution of a search warrant at 136 Windemere Rd., in Whiteland, detectives seized a desktop computer from the residence.
According to the probable cause affidavit, investigators allege that Cassin used his home computer to look up images of underage children engaging in explicit sex acts. The suspect was arrested and remanded to the Johnson County Jail.
The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office says the charges are level 5 felonies due to the explicit nature of the images. A level 5 felony has a sentencing range of one year to six years, with a presumptive sentence of three years and a fine of up to $10,000.
The defendant is presumed innocent of the charges against him until proven guilty.
