COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office responded, at around 8:45 p.m. on Monday, to a vehicle fire on County Road 50N, near County Road 900E.
Dustin Crabtree, 26, of Columbus, was reportedly traveling on C.R. 50N when he noticed sparks coming from the rear of his Jeep. He pulled over and realized that his car was on fire. He removed his 2-year-old daughter from the vehicle and the both walked away without injury.
Deputies say the road was closed for about 45 minutes as fire departments from Hartsville and Elizabethtown collaborated to extinguish the blaze.
