FRANKLIN, Ind. — The parachuting accident that claimed a woman on New Years Day is being blamed on failed equipment.
Teresa “Terrie” Headrick Woods, 54, of Martinsville, died from injuries sustained skydiving at the Franklin Flying Field Friday. Woods was considered an experienced skydiver with over 1,000 jumps.
A skydiving expert at the airport when the accident occurred told the Daily Journal that it was due to a failure with the main parachute.
The FAA is investigating the incident.
