GREENSBURG, Ind. — A vehicle manufactured in Greensburg has earned the title 2016 North American Car of the Year.
The 2016 Honda Civic won the award Monday in Detroit.
The car’s production began in October at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana. Approximately 250,000 Civics are expected to be produced at the plant.
“I am extremely proud of our team who has put much time and effort into building the all-new, award-winning Civic,” said HMIN President Bob Nelson. “We were pleased when we found out that the Civic was a nominee last month. Today, we were thrilled when we found out that we won this prestigious award.”
The North American Car of the Year Award is given by a group of 53 international automotive journalists each year at the opening of the North American International Auto Show.
