COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police say they’re seeing a rise in the number of cases involving counterfeit money.
At least 12 fraudulent transactions have occurred in January.
Detectives say the fake money, which has consisted primarily of $10, $20, and $100 bills, have been passed at gas stations and fast food restaurants.
Anyone with questions regarding the validity of money can take it to their local bank or police department.
The Columbus Police Department is currently seeking information on the recent counterfeit money cases. Those with information are urged to call police at 812-376-2627.
