COLUMBUS, Ind. – The community is invited to a discussion about Columbus’ unique contribution to the history of modern and contemporary architecture.
Landmark Columbus is partnering with the Columbus Area Visitors Center to present the forum at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 2 at the Columbus Area Visitors Center.
The discussion will be led by Michelangelo Sabatino, Professor and Director of PhD Program in Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology.
“Columbus is not a museum of modern and contemporary architecture. Nor is its embrace of good design concentrated in cultural institutions with generous construction budgets,” says Sabatino.
“Although a significant number of buildings – from schools and churches to banks and offices – were designed by leading architects, they were not conceived as standalone objects, but rather as part of the everyday fabric of this extraordinary Indiana city.”
