NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Police in North Vernon have received several calls since Friday regarding suspicious door-to-door salesmen.
They attempt to sell something different at each house, police said, including vacuum cleaners, aerosol cans and surveys.
The possible salesmen have been described as two African-American men and an African-American woman. They are driving a minivan that has front driver side damage and a broken passenger side head light, police said.
It is required to have a permit from the mayor’s office for solicitation of products in North Vernon. Authorities say the suspects could be casing neighborhoods for future burglaries.
