COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation school board is expected to approve Dr. Jim Roberts as the next superintendent.
The vote is scheduled during Monday’s school board meeting at the Columbus Signature Academy Tech-New Tech High School.
Roberts has served as superintendent of Batesville Community Schools since 2007.
The Brown County native earned his bachelors and master’s degrees from Indiana University and his Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University.
Roberts served as board member for various community programs including Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and a Drug-Free Batesville.
During his tenure, Roberts launched a technology program that provided each Batesville student with personal computing devices. He also led the implementation of a Chinese immersion program.
Roberts was noted for not cutting programs or staff despite difficult financial times when he was named the 2015 Superintendent of the Year for District 8 by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents.
If approved, Roberts will replace longtime superintendent Dr. John Quick.
