SEYMOUR, Ind. — A man died while working at Enterprise Products in Seymour on Saturday.
Daniel U. Sweatt, 43, of Henderson, Kentucky, was a Summit Environmental Services employee who was working at in Seymour when he collapsed around 12 p.m.
Investigators say he was cleaning up after sandblasting the inside of a storage tank. He was sweeping up dust on top of a floating roof inside of the tank when he stopped to sit down.
He continued to sweep until he collapsed on to the surface of the floating roof.
Workers attempted CPR as Sweatt was pronounced dead the scene.
Sweatt had worked for Summit Environmental Services LLC for 4 years.
When in use, the storage tank in question can hold up to 67,000 barrels of natural gasoline.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death.
