SEYMOUR, Ind.— Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a fiery crash on Interstate 65 in Jackson County.
The car crashed around 6:30 a.m. Sunday in southbound lanes at the 42 mile marker.
First responders say the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. A passerby pulled two men from the vehicle beforehand.
The driver, Norton Baughman, 19, of Seymour said the passenger, Joshua Lane, 22, of Seymour, grabbed the wheel and pulled the off the road.
The SUV left the east side of the road and struck a tree before bursting into flames, police said.
Both occupants were flown to the hospital.
Investigators say alcohol is likely a contributing factor in the crash.
