COLUMBUS, Ind. — Wischmeier nursery is closing its doors, after 31 years of serving the residents of Columbus.
The family made the difficult decision to cease operations after owner and founder, John Wischmeier, announced his retirement. Co-owner Jerry Wischmeier plans to pursue other opportunities.
Wischmeier Nursery is known for stocking hard-to-find, popular items and has become a favorite place to shop for Columbus and surrounding areas. A clearance sale of plants and merchandise is currently underway. The company has also become a destination stop for many people traveling through the area, drawing people from throughout the Midwest.
