COLUMBUS, Ind. — Police suspect alcohol and drugs may have been involved in a Bartholomew County crash early Monday morning.
Police responded to the 11000 block of Georgetown Road around 2:30 a.m. and found a vehicle on its top and a 16-year-old victim on the ground nearby.
The driver of the car, Brandon Dunbar, 19, of Columbus, told police his vehicle ran off the road and rolled down a hill. During the investigation Dunbar told police he had a couple of drinks and smoked weed that evening.
The 16-year-old male victim was flown to an Indianapolis hospital and his condition is unknown. A 14-year-old was in the vehicle and was uninjured.
Dunbar was arrested for driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
