COLUMBUS, Ind. — Anonymous complaints and several months of investigation led to the arrest of two men by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team in Columbus Wednesday night.
During a traffic stop, officers arrested Brian “Big Country” Jones, 40, of Columbus, for possession of heroin.
That stop led them to a home in the 700 block of Union Street. When police arrived to execute a search warrant they found Steve “Neno” Whitley, 51, of Indianapolis, sitting on the front porch. Whitley was arrested after he tried to throw away a sock containing heroin and cocaine as officers approached. Police also confiscated $2,200 in cash from Whitley. During a search of the Union Street residence, police found scales, spoons and syringes.
Jones and Whitley are being held in the Bartholomew County Jail for drug dealing charges.
