TRAFALGAR, Ind. — A Trafalgar man was seriously injured in an accident involving a dump truck in Johnson County Monday.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says Stephen Hensley, 48, was westbound on State Road 44 near Centerline Road, when he crossed the centerline and struck a dump truck driven by Michael Purdy, 50, of Morgantown. The impact caused Hensley’s vehicle to overturn in the roadway, trapping him inside for a short period of time. Hensley was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital with serious leg injuries. His condition is unavailable. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Witnesses to the crash verified that Hensley did cross the centerline and hit the driver’s side front of the dump truck near the wheel well.
