INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A police action shooting in Indianapolis Thursday evening is related to a stolen vehicle report in Franklin.
Indianapolis police found the vehicle just east of the intersection of Regent and Union Streets at 6 p.m. When IMPD officers approached the vehicle, the suspect fled behind a house. During the foot pursuit, the suspect brandished a gun and began to point it at police. Two officers fired at the suspect, hitting him once.
No officers were injured and the suspect is listed in serious condition at an Indianapolis hospital.
A gun was recovered at the scene, and the car was confirmed as being stolen earlier in the day from Gateway Services in Franklin.
