BROWNSTOWN, Ind. — A Jackson County man has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a 3-year-old Crothersville girl in May.
Brent Sawyer, 21, has been charged with felony operating while intoxicated. If convicted, Sawyer could face up to 6 years in prison.
In the early morning hours of May 13, Sawyer was southbound on U.S. 31 near County Road 500S when he crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle driven by Devin Bevers. The crash killed Tavaya Bevers, 3. Reports indicate she was properly restrained in the backseat at the time of the crash.
