GREENWOOD, Ind. — Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in a Johnson County ATV crash Tuesday night in the 3000 block of North Graham Road.
At 8:30 p.m., John Taylor, 48, of Franklin was northbound, in the ditch line and could not hear a warning shouted by Andrew Copley who was following. Taylor’s ATV fell into a culvert and landed on top of him.
When first responders arrived, Taylor had no pulse. Franklin Fire Department medics performed CPR and summoned a lifeline helicopter. While on the way to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, Taylor’s heart stopped twice, but medics where able to revive him both times. Taylor is listed in critical condition.
Officers from the DNR say Taylor was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
