COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Johnson County man who escaped from police custody in Columbus last year has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Dustin Evans, 27, of Franklin, escaped while being transported to Columbus Regional Health because police thought he ingested narcotics during an arrest in November 2015. He was captured three days later.
Evans was convicted last month for escape and unlawful possession of a syringe. The conviction marks the 17th time Evans has been charged with a crime.
