COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus resident is in jail after threatening to cause blindness to another man with a screwdriver during a disturbance.
Police responded to the 200 block of Smith Street at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, and found the victim. The victim told police he was blind in one eye and Dirk Neal, 36, threatened cause blindness in his good eye. The victim fought off by swinging a bike lock as Neal swung the screwdriver at his head.
Police found Dirk Neal a short time later and arrested him for battery and intimidation with a deadly weapon. He has been placed on a 48-hour hold.
