NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Two Jennings County residents were arrested after a multi-agency burglary investigation.
While patrolling in Lovett Township on Monday morning, police located a suspicious vehicle and questioned the occupants, Billy Ellis, 35, and Stacy Lucas, 30, both of Commiskey. With no immediate reason to detain them, deputies let them leave the scene.
After speaking with a nearby homeowner, deputies realized a burglary had been committed and began to search for the tan Ford truck the two previously-questioned suspects were in. Police were able to locate the truck on Wednesday with the help of the Scott County Sheriff’s Department. During the investigation police found items taken from the home in open view. Several guns and tools were recovered from the vehicle, the Ellis residence in Commiskey, and a motel room in Scottsburg.
Ellis and Lucas were taken to the Jennings County Jail and charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.
