COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County is tied for the state’s lowest unemployment rate last month. Dubois County in southern Indiana matched Bartholomew County with a 2.9 percent rate for November. Information from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development says, there are 43,958 people working in the Columbus Metropolitan area.
Leading growth sectors for November in Columbus were 4.55 percent in the leisure and hospitality sector, followed by a 4.35 percent for government jobs. Trade, transportation and utilities employment increased 2.38 percent for November.
