COLUMBUS, Ind. — Cummins Inc. will officially open the new distribution headquarters in Indianapolis on January 5. The building was designed by the New York-based architecture firm, Deborah Berke Partners, and is intended to provide a people-centric work environment that contributes to the social and economic vibrancy of the area.
The new facility allows the company to bring the company closer to customers and distributors via the Indianapolis International Airport and interstate highway system. About 450 Cummins Inc. employees will be based there.
The four-acre site is the former location of Market Square Arena. The redesigned plaza and park that surround the building was designed by David Rubin Land Collective. The design provides a variety of environments for people to gather.
