COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Christmas Eve accident around 6:30 p.m., seriously injured two people in Bartholomew County. Indiana State Police say a westbound car on County Road 750S, driven by Samuel Morris, 21, of Dupont, failed to yield to a northbound vehicle on U.S. 31, driven by Larry Abbott, 52, of Columbus.
Morris had to be extricated from the car and was flown to an Indianapolis area hospital. A front seat passenger with Morris, Taylor Finley, 22, of Scipio, was also flown to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries. Abbott was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. Both drivers have submitted to a blood analysis as part of the investigation.
