COLUMBUS, Ind. — Since the beginning of the year, Columbus police have investigated four cases of counterfeit $100 bills being passed at westside businesses.
In each case the suspect bought a relatively inexpensive item and left the store after receiving change from the employee. Witnesses say the suspect has tattoos on his face, neck, and at least one of his hands.
Lt. Matt Harris says the bills are very low quality and do not have security features. He says businesses and employees should review what authentic bills look like. Information about counterfeit currency activities can be left by calling 812-376-2627.
