WALESBORO, Ind. — A Thursday morning accident on Interstate 65 in Jackson County has killed a Scottsburg woman.
Indiana State Police say a vehicle driven by Gerald Brown, 71, of Scottsburg, was northbound on I-65, when he lost control on the snow covered road near the Walesboro exit around 8 a.m. The vehicle went off the east side of the highway and struck a utility pole.
A passenger, Carolyn Brown, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gerald Brown suffered serious injuries, and was initially taken to Schneck Medical Center. He was later transported to an Indianapolis hospital.
