GREENWOOD, Ind. — An 18-year-old Greenwood man is in jail following a shooting early Monday morning.
Greenwood police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the 2000 block of Jaden Lane in the Pebble Creek Subdivision around 1:30 a.m. Police found a 16-year-old male in the backseat who had been shot in the head.
At the same time that law enforcement was processing the scene, two juveniles and their parents were reporting the incident at the Greenwood Police Department. The witnesses identified the young shooter as Isaac Stinemetz. The juveniles told police there was an argument, and then Stinemetz pulled the pistol and fired one shot.
Police arrested Stinemetz at his home on Palisades Court in Greenwood without incident. Stinemetz told police he did not know the gun was loaded. Stinemetz has been charged with reckless homicide. The gun was recovered from a storm drain near the scene.
