COLUMBUS, Ind. — A former Bartholomew County Humane Society worker has been taken into custody after an investigation into missing adoption fees. In May 2016, foul play was suspected when authorities could not locate $1000 that had been misplaced. A person of interest in the case was identified as Brittany Hooper, 23, of Scipio. Sheriff’s detectives arrested Hooper on February 6, and she was formally charged with felony theft.
