COLUMBUS, Ind. — City police are investigating an accident that killed a Columbus East High School student Saturday night.
Officers responded to a report of a person hit by a car in the 2500 block of Franklin Street around 9:30 p.m. Police determined Abbott Garn, 15, got out of a vehicle and then attempted to get back in as it drove away. As he attempted to get back in the vehicle, he was struck. Garn was life-lined to an Indianapolis hospital, where he died a short time later.
