COLUMBUS, Ind. — With the help of a homeowner, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies recovered stolen property, a stolen vehicle, and made three arrests Saturday morning.
Officerss were called to investigate two suspicious vehicles in the 1200 block of County Road 450 South around 6 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, the property owner was holding Derek Sarver, 31, Natasha Carr, 28 and Stephen McFarland, at gunpoint. Police recovered items belonging to the property owner in the back of a pickup truck that had been reported stolen earlier in the morning.
All three suspects were arrested for theft and auto theft. They were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail and placed on a 48-hour hold.
This is an ongoing investigation.
