FRANKLIN, Ind. — The second phase of construction of Jefferson Street in downtown Franklin, from U.S. 31 to to the Admiral gas station, is set to begin on or after February 27 and should be completed by July. The project includes a new box culvert at Walnut Street at Roaring Run. Jefferson Street east of Walnut Street will open by May 1.
Contractors will keep Jefferson Street open for access to homes and businesses. Access points may change as the project progresses, but residents can expect the area to be passable.
Johnson County will also close the South Street bridge over Young’s Creek for replacement. The bridge is scheduled for completion by August 1, 2017.
