INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Two local high school graduates are working as pages for state representative Jim Lucas.
Laura Hauersperger, of Hayden, is attending IUPUI in Indianapolis and majoring in journalism, with a concentration in public relations and a political science minor. Hauersperger is working in the House Majority Communications Office helping with press releases, legislative handouts and setting up press conferences.
Ashlee Morris, of North Vernon, has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is pursuing a master’s degree. Morris is working as a legislative intern and corresponds with constituents and assists with staff committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“This internship offers hands-on experiences for young adults,” Lucas said. “The Indiana Statehouse is the place to be for students and graduates who have an interest in politics and want the opportunity to be more engaged in their state government.”
