NORTH VERNON, Ind. — An investigation into an unlicensed driver led to four drug arrests. Two of those taken into custody are suspected methamphetamine dealers in North Vernon.
Police observed Kurtis Turner, 35, of Butlerville, driving on State Road 3 on Thursday around 6:30 p.m. During a traffic stop officers confirmed that Turner did not have a license, and a police canine detected the scent of narcotics. Police reports say that during a search of the vehicle, Jennings County deputies recovered eight grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana. That investigation led police to procuring a search warrant for a home on Private Road 675N in North Vernon. While at the residence, police reports indicate they found three ounces of methamphetamine, $50,000 in cash, plus numerous drug-related items and weapons.
Kurtis Turner, David E. Turner, 37, Judy K. Nichols, 55, and Sheryl L. Staublin, 55, all face drug charges. All are from Butlerville.
