GREENWOOD, Ind. — Greenwood police say a 53-year-old Indianapolis woman was struck on U.S. 31 at Main Street in Greenwood on Friday around 10 p.m.
According to police reports, Theresa Jean Shaffer was walking on Main Street and stepped in to the northbound lanes of U.S. 31, where she was immediately struck and killed by a passenger car. Police say the driver was not impaired and was not speeding at the time of the accident. Shaffer was reportedly wearing dark clothing.
