COLUMBUS, Ind. — One person was injured in a Bartholomew County accident Tuesday morning.
A report from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department says a car driven by Tony Whittington, 21, of Hope, was found submerged in water in the 5800 block of County Road 450N. When police arrived at the scene Whittington was responsive, but trapped in the vehicle. After he was extricated he was flown to an Indianapolis hospital. His condition is not known. Whittington may have been in the vehicle for four hours before he was discovered.
A police report regarding drug-related items found in the vehicle is being forwarded to the Bartholomew County prosecutor.
