FRANKLIN, Ind. — Franklin city council member and former Johnson County deputy prosecutor has been arrested for drunk driving. Police say Drew Eggers, 32, was taken into custody around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Eggers is an elected official, but resigned his post with the prosecutor’s office on Monday. He is still a member of city council.
According to police reports, Eggers was stopped at 2 a.m. Sunday near Jefferson Street and Westview Drive. At first, police say he did not cooperate with them, but ultimately he did agree to perform field sobriety tests. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail.
Prosecutor Brad Cooper says he will appoint a special prosecutor.
