COLUMBUS, Ind. – Months of investigation into the sale of heroin by the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team led to the arrest of three people in Columbus. According to a press release from the Columbus Police Department, Joseph Leszcynski, 31, was arrested on a warrant Monday evening. Leszcynski is facing two counts of dealing a narcotic drug and possession of heroin.
The CPD press release continued to say that officers were also able to arrest Cyrus Nida, 19, after linking him with suspects arrested for dealing heroin last September. While searching Nida’s home on Forest Drive detectives allegedly recovered approximately four grams of heroin, a handgun, a loaded shotgun, a large amount of ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. Nida was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on two counts of dealing a narcotic drug and faces preliminary charges of dealing heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 17-year-old juvenile was taken to the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center on preliminary charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
