COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man was arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident on Lowell Road Sunday. According to a press release, witnesses at the scene provided Bartholomew County Sheriffs deputies with a description of Joshua Arnett, 30, who allegedly fled toward the Driftwood River after the crash. Arnett was found in a field near the river where he was arrested on multiple preliminary charges including leaving the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.
