COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man was arrested after allegedly seriously injuring another in a fight Sunday. According to a press release from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department when deputies arrived on the scene they found a 24-year-old male semi-conscious on the ground. Officers said Elliott Blackburn, 22, who was also at the scene, admitted to beating him. The victim was taken to Columbus Regional Health for treatment and was later transported to an Indianapolis Hospital for surgery. Blackburn was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
