Franklin gearing up for next phase of Jefferson Street project

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Phase 2 of the Jefferson Street project in Franklin is nearing completion. Mayor Steve Barnett says blacktopping begins today and they expect Jefferson Street to open within the next two weeks while they prepare for phases 3 and 4. The next phases will be from East Court to Home Avenue followed by Home Avenue to Crowell Street. Barnett added that the city appreciates the patience of downtown Franklin business owners and that they will have something to be proud of once the project is completed.
