COLUMBUS, Ind.—The Bartholomew County Council has approved extra funds to shore up overtime at the jail. Sheriff Matt Myers went before the council last night, asking for an additional $50,000 in overtime funds needed as a result of an increased volume of inmates in 2017. Myers said that the amount already allotted for the year has been used, but he believes these extra funds will last until the end of the year.
