COLUMBUS, Ind.–Cooking oil has been determined as the cause of a kitchen fire in Columbus Tuesday evening. According to Captain Mike Wilson of the Columbus Fire Department, crews were called to a house in the 400 block of Coovert Street when the owners were unable to control the fire themselves. Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the kitchen and ventilate the smoke from the house. No injuries nor significant damage was reported.
