INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Action Day for Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, and Shelby counties due to high ozone levels. The agency is asking residents to help reduce ozone levels by walking or carpooling, combining errands, and not using mowers or refueling your car until after 7 p.m. Additional tips from IDEM include turning off your car engine if you idle longer than 30 seconds, turning off lights in the house when you are not in the room, and setting air conditioners to 75 degrees or above.
