COLUMBUS, Ind.—Fire crews were called to a house fire on the north side of Columbus late Sunday afternoon. According to Mike Wilson of the Columbus Fire Department, the call came from the 4100 block of North Riverside Drive. Firefighters quickly put out a fire in a basement utility closet and determined a faulty dehumidifier unit to be the cause. The family had already been safely evacuated when crews arrived. Investigators believe the damage to the house is minimal.
