OLDENBURG, Ind.–A plane crash in Oldenburg on Saturday night has left three people dead. Sgt. Stephen Wheeles of the Indiana State Police says the small aircraft was en route from Kansas City to Maryland when it disappeared from Cincinnati Air Traffic Control’s radar a little after 9 p.m. A short time later, rescue crews found the flaming wreckage in a heavily wooded area in Franklin County. Wheeles stated that one dog also died in the crash, but a second dog survived. The lucky animal somehow escaped the ruins without major injury and made it to a nearby residence, where it was taken to a veterinarian to be treated. The Federal Aviation Authority is still investigating the cause of the accident.
