COLUMBUS, Ind.–In the wake of Wednesday’s shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla., Local News Digital reached out to authorities at the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and asked about its current approach to school security and changes that might be planned in the wake of the latest tragic event.
Student Assistance Coordinator Larry Perkinson said that BCSC has “the ability to monitor our doors, we have cameras, we have school resource officers. Truthfully, the greatest thing we have is the ability to make connections with families and schools so that when they suspect something’s out there, they come and talk to us about it. That’s never going to change.”
