COLUMBUS, Ind.–After seeing a rifle in a truck which was parked at Columbus East High School on Thursday morning, two students reported the incident to authorities. Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation said that the vehicle and the rifle belonged to a staff member who has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the matter.
Sources say that police also responded to the concern and escorted the teacher off of school property without arresting him. He had allegedly been coyote hunting Wednesday night and forgot to remove the gun from the vehicle.
