JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind.–Festival Country Indiana, the official tourism agency of Johnson County, has released its findings after the conclusion of its economic impact study for 2017. Results show that tourism brought $255.7 million into the Johnson County economy. In addition to the dollar figure, an estimated 1.05 million visitors made Johnson County their destination while another 1.35 million passed through on their way to other parts of the state and country.
The study also showed a total of 2,921 jobs in Johnson County resulted from the industry. Tourism generated $60.2 million in tax revenue, including $11.9 million to Johnson County.
May 6-12 is National Travel & Tourism Week and Visit Indiana Week. Festival Country Indiana is working with Visit Indiana to encourage visitors to come to Johnson County this week and throughout the year.
