COLUMBUS, Ind.–The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress (ASAP) wants to assist local not-for-profit organizations that apply for its grants, so it is holding a technical assistance meeting for Project Prevent, a grant initiative supported by the Mark and Wendy Elwood Substance Abuse Prevention Fund.
The meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 1, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Heritage Fund building on Franklin Street, to help organizations apply for these grants meant to assist with efforts to quickly engage the Bartholomew County community about the opioid epidemic.
Groups eligible for ASAP Project Prevent grants include Bartholomew County youth-serving organizations, faith-based groups, clubs, teams or other groups operating as or under the financial supervision of a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. These organizations will work on building an understanding and sharing the facts about opioids, the consequences of inappropriate uses via impactful asset building, and prevention-focused initiatives especially focused on youth (pre-K through 25 years of age).
