INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.–An Indiana State Police (ISP) officer is fortunate to have suffered only minor injuries following a traffic accident early Thursday morning on Interstate 65. Sgt. John Perrine, public information officer with ISP, tells Local News Digital that the trooper was using his vehicle to block a lane of southbound I-65, near mile marker 104, the site of a previous crash.
As the officer sat in his car, a truck driven by Dustin Boyer, 38, of Greenwood, smashed into the back of the cruiser. Perrine says the trooper was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
Boyer was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.
