COLUMBUS, Ind.–The Greater Columbus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is having its annual meeting this week and has invited a familiar face back to Columbus. Naoki Ito, Japan’s consul-general in Chicago, will deliver the keynote address at the EDC’s luncheon discussing the importance of United States-Japan relations, and how that takes form in Bartholomew County.
The Commons is hosting the event tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ticketed luncheon will also feature a report to the community on current and future activities of the Greater Columbus EDC focused on the organization’s efforts to provide existing business support, talent attraction, and industry diversification efforts.
Ito visited the city in 2017 to tour various facilities operated by Japanese businesses. This year’s trip continues the endeavor to strengthen the ties between Columbus and Japan.
